How to Dispose of Rosacea
Rosacea is one of the most common inflammatory conditions of the skin of the face. Once it afflicts you, your face will take on a characteristic redness that looks like a permanent flush or blush. A condition called rhinophyma also may develop in some men; it is rare in women. Rhinophyma is characterized by an enlarged, bulbous, and red nose resulting from enlargement of the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands beneath the surface of the skin on the nose.

Be sure to use a gentle skin cleanser without harsh abrasives or other harsh chemicals/ingredients. Excessive alcohol and harsh chemicals abound in many cleansers, so be sure your cleanser is free of irritants. There are some great anti-redness masks, serums, and gentle cleansers out there for rosacea sufferers that will soothe and calm the skin, bringing back it's normal color and balance.

Another effective way to control symptoms (including your red face) is to identify those factors that cause your skin condition to flare up.  These factors can be food based or environmental and are referred to as "triggers".   Each individual can have a varied number of triggers making rosacea a more difficult disorder to control.  Maintaining a diary of events immediately preceding your flare-ups can help you identify your particular triggers.  By avoiding these factors, you can help reduce your symptoms.

Dermatologists, while unable to cure rosacea, have a variety of treatments that diminish the disease’s signs and symptoms. According to a study of 1,077 rosacea patients, 87 percent said their rosacea was under control with treatment.1 Today’s treatments range from topical products and oral medications to treat the papules and pustules, to laser therapy for treating visible blood vessels on the face and laser surgery for rhinophyma.

The contemporary treatments include prescribed medications by skin specialists and other commercial products available in the market. The medications are mostly pills or creams containing laboratory formulas for combating the rosacea skin malfunctions. The commercial products like moisturizers, toners, and deep cleanse milks etc are used for acne treatments. Laser therapies have also been developed to meet the complication of the severe lesions and pustules of rosacea.

Don't rub the skin dry. Blot dry, instead, using a soft, thick-pile cotton towel. After this step Zen Med non abrasive cleanser is ideal to use by putting applying with your fingers.

Drink lots of water and apple, pineapple or papaya juices. Eat more fiber. Drink green tea each morning (chai green tea is very affective)

Acne triggering foods are white flour foods, sugary or fried foods, soft drinks, caffiene, chocolate, fatty dairy, hard cheeses, nightshade plants, tobacco, tomatoes, peanut butter, citrus, eggs, salt, high iodine foods.

The most important thing to remember about sunscreen is that you can never use too much! Clothing, water and perspiration can make it wear off. Although it may seem a little tedious, you should apply it every hour, and each time after you go in the water – your skin will thank you! Some people are unaware that sunscreen has an expiry date. Be sure to check that, and get a new bottle if it has expired. When applying, remember those often forgotten areas – the nose, ears, back of hands, and tops of feet.

While a doctor cannot cure rosacea, they can offer some relief from rosacea through topical antibiotics. With regular application, these medications can get rid of many of the papules from rosacea; however, they do very little for the redness and spider veins that may appear. These symptoms, along with enlargement of the nose, may be successfully treated with laser surgery.
