The general manager of the AC Milan, Adriano Galliani was asked about the possibility of signing the English player, and he answered that they will receive Beckham with open arms if he finds a way to get off the five year contract he still has with the LA Galaxy. In that contract, Beckham still has 3 years left; but the decision of negotiate a release from the MLS team will be up to Beckham and his representatives, who are planning to meet in the next few days with Milan officials to talk about this option, according to a Galliani’s statement to the media.
"The player wants to stay with us, but he knows he has to return to Los Angeles in March under terms of the Galaxy's loan agreement with Milan. We will buy him if he frees himself. On the other hand, Beckham’s spokesman in London, Simon Olivera, said that Beckham is having a good time right now with AC Milan but that he knows he has to go back on March 9th; Olivera also stated that David is aware that he has a contract with the Galaxy that he still has to honour and that no negotiations have been made towards the situation of David in Italy.
In the meantime, the manager of AC Milan, Carlo Ancelotti, is no completely sure if Beckham is going to play on Sunday‘s game against Lazio due to a left muscle strain injury that he had on last Wednesday’s game after scoring the goal. During that game Beckham was substituted in the 71st minute for the same reason. Carlo Ancelotti expressed to the media that the doctors of AC Milan already checked Beckham and it doesn’t seems something serious but they are going to take all the precautions.
David is going through a great moment and whether he decides negotiate a release of the Galaxy or not, we all hope that he takes the best decision.
