Crouch set to seal Portsmouth move

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has agreed to join Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth and will complete the move once he passes his medical. Everything is expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours.
I would put all my football betting money on the fact that Crouch doesn't actually want to leave Liverpool. Instead he has been forced out by Rafa Benitez, who treated the former Aston Villa striker very poorly in my opinion. If I was to bet on a Premier League game involving Liverpool, I'd always expect Crouch to be sitting on the bench - no matter how well he had performed in the previous game.
That's just the way it was for Crouch. Considering a lot of his appearances were from the bench, his record of 40 goals in 135 games for Liverpool - he had a decent record. Yet, despite this he has been asked to move on.
I think the main reason for the move is financial. Liverpool will use the £9m they will receive for Crouch to help them sign Robbie Keane or David Villa. Two players that, in terms of Premier League betting, you would expect to score more often than Crouch.
Crouch would know that Benitez is on the look out for new strikers and this would mean him moving further down the pecking order. Therefore a move is probably in his best interests. If he is playing every week for Pompey, you would

Portsmouth meet Liverpool at Anfield on the 29th October and I would like to see the football odds on Crouch getting on the score-sheet here. He will be determined to prove Benitez wrong for letting him go. I'd even go as far to say that if I was to bet on the Premier League top goalscorer, then I wouldn't rule out Peter Crouch. He may be an outsider, but he will be playing week in, week out and I think he has as good a chance as anyone.
Should this happen, I would like to hear what Rafa Benitez would have to say.
